My Computer will not boot
When Windows fails to boot, it is normally caused by a user installing a program or device and it has caused a conflict with one or more programs. This will no doubt give you plenty of heartache.  If you're not certain which program caused Windows to not boot up.  Windows also uses a complex format for booting your pc. 

If one of these files happens to become corrupt, then Windows will also be corrupt. 

Hardware malfunctions can also cause a computer not to boot.  Some minor issues only require minor repairs while others, if not fixed immediately, can cause permanent damage to your machine.
In either case, you should bring your computer in for repair as soon as possible.
 
My Computer has been running very slow

some possible reasons:

  • It's possible that your computer may have to many background programs running
  • Your hard drive could be to full to function efficiently
  • Your hard drive could be failing
  • Windows has become corrupt
  • You have been infected with a virus
  • Your computer needs to be upgraded

My Computer keeps displaying blue screens

some possible reasons:

  • It's possible that your computer may have a damaged piece of hardware
  • Windows may have become corrupt

The Windows blue screen is a way for windows to tell a technician that it had a severe error.  Normally this error is so severe that Windows was not able to solve or bypass the problem.

This is bad!!

Keeping a machine in a state like this can damage other parts of the Operating System or the computer resulting in data loss and more expensive repairs.
You should have your machine serviced as soon as possible so that you may protect the rest of the computer.

Am I infected with a virus?

Virus infections are a serious problem.  Virus's are designed to take control of your computer to either obtain data or cause malicious damage. 

Possible symptoms of a computer virus would include:

  • constant pop ups
  • Some programs run while others will not
  • Windows will not boot properly
  • No internet access
  • computer is acting slower all of a sudden

Virus removal is very tough.  Virus's are programmed to embed themselves in system files so that removal is as difficult as possible.  Our technicians have been successfully dealing with viruses for the past 20 years.  If you think you may have a virus or are unsure, bring your PC into to us for a diagnostic scan.

No lights turn on when I press power

When no lights turn on when the power button is pressed and all of the cables have been checked, then most likely it’s a bad power supply.  Finding the right power supply is a very tricky task.  You have to make certain that you have all of the right specifications of else you may damage your machine.
Luckily, Action Computer Services has tones of power supplies.  If your lights aren't turning on, then come on by and lest get you set up with a new power supply.
